SON COUNTRY (BIRTH-5TH GRADE)
Son Country is all about sharing the love of Christ with our kids! While we believe parents are the primary teachers and role models for their children, we support families by teaching and encouraging kids to believe in Christ by faith and follow him in obedience. We do this in the following ways:
- teaching the Bible during Sunday morning classes and programs (we go through the whole Bible every three years)
- providing age-appropriate extra-curricular activities (Bible character breakfast and missionary spotlights)
- encouraging children to build strong relationships with adults and students who love the Lord
Every Sunday morning in Son Country we gather to sing, before dividing up in our classes for the Bible lesson and craft. Children are placed in classes with others who are the same age and at the same stage of development. Classes are:
- Nursery (to three years)
- Pre-K and Kinder
- Grades 1-3
- Grades 4-5
To ensure we provide a safe place for learning, all volunteers are background-checked and have been involved at Crossing for a minimum of six months. Once a child is checked in, a matching name sticker and security tag are printed. For security, children will not be released from their class without the matching tag””unless we have a ministry leader look up the parent’s contact information.

READ AROUND THE WORLD (MISSIONARY-MINDED KIDS)
Read Around the World is an incentive-based reading program that encourages kids to learn about Christian missions. Beginning in preschool and continuing through 5th grade, children can check out books from a collection of biographies of Christian missionaries that will inspire and challenge them to broaden their understanding of other cultures””and their vision for the world. Points are tracked and rewards are given every September during a recognition ceremony. CLICK HERE for more information!
