Getting Connected Men's Ministry
Men's Ministry
Men's Bible Study

The Purpose of Men’s Ministry at Crossing is to help men connect with God and each other. We believe that a man finds his true worth and purpose by having a personal, vital relationship with God through Jesus Christ. And we believe we need each other in order to successfully live out His purposes for our lives. “As iron sharpens iron, so a man sharpens the countenance of his friend.” (Proverbs 27:17)

Our Vision is to help men discover what it means to be “created in the image and likeness of God” (Genesis 1:26), to understand what it means to be a husband, a father, a brother, a boss, an employee, a friend, all from God’s perspective.

  • We encourage men to pray.
“I desire therefore that the men pray everywhere…” (1Timothy 2:8). We believe prayer forms the necessary foundation to developing a vital relationship with God and enables us to live lives that bring glory to Him.
  • We encourage men to study the Bible.
“So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” (Romans 10:17) We believe that one of the primary ways God revels Himself and His will for our day-to-day lives is through the Bible.
  • We encourage men to serve.
“Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good.” (1 Corinthians 12:7) We believe that the work of the ministry is not solely the responsibility of paid professionals. The Holy Spirit has given all believers in Christ a unique gifting that is to be used to benefit others and to further the kingdom of God.
  • We encourage men to fellowship.
“Though one may be overpowered by another, two can withstand him. And a threefold cord is not quickly broken.” (Ecclesiastes 12:6) We believe it is God’s intention for us to live in mutually beneficial relationships. An authentic relationship with Christ and other men is essential to a faith that is growing and maturing.
  • We encourage men to reach out.
“Each of you should look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others.” (Philippians 2:4) We believe that we have a God given responsibility to look beyond ourselves, helping to meet the needs of those around us and sharing the “good news” of God’s free gift of salvation through His Son.

Gary Bailey, Director of Men's Ministry

Gary Bailey, Director of Men's Ministry

I grew up in southern California. In 1972 I accepted God’s offer of forgiveness and began a new life in Christ. In all the years since then He has always remained faithful even though I have not. Five years ago we relocated to the east coast with our two children, a very large cat, my son’s hermit crab and settled in Newtown. Our neighbors introduced us to Crossing and that has been our church home ever since. When I am not at the church, I manage a retail mattress store in Newtown.

I graduated from Vanguard College with a BA in Religion (Biblical Studies) in 198(?) – I can never remember the year. My primary interest is in home fellowships and small group ministry. My passion is to help other Christians, especially men, discover who they are in Christ. When I have free time I enjoy road trips with the family and golf. email: This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it
